The trading platform is a computer program that allows you to access the financial markets and open up and down positions with tradable assets. If you want to invest from your home, trade on Forex or trade in cryptocurrencies, you need to open an account with a broker. That way, you can discover the trading platform by yourself, for example by opening a demo account with IQ option from here.

To use the excellent IQoption platform, you simply need to:
- Access the page
- Choose between demo or real mode
- Provide an email
The order of these three steps can be different, but they exist in all brokers and platforms, so to download or use the online trading platform, you will need to follow all three steps.
Now, for the demo account you only need an email, as you will not be trading with real money, but with virtual money to practice. When you want to start trading with real money, you will have to provide your data.
For more details about the demo account, you can read this article.

When you have accessed the platform and you are ready to use it, the practical part of this activity begins. First, we recommend that you take a look at each part of the trading platform to learn about all its features.

Let’s make a practical example with the IQ Option platform, which you can download for free and then decide whether you want to practice with a demo or trade with real money.
We are in the “Trade” tab (in the left column of the platform). The platform is divided into 4 parts.
- Available financial instruments (first box at the top)
- Info section (first button on top left)
- Left side bar (far left)
- Right side bar
Well, now let’s illustrate them point by point.
Available Financial Instruments
First of all, each trading platform offers the possibility to view all available financial instruments, which can be shares, indices, currencies, ETFs and commodities. As you can see in the picture, the instruments can be sorted by popularity.

Section “Info” of the Trading Platform
On the left side there is a part where you can choose between:
- Information
- News
- Technical Analysis
- Economic events
- Trading conditions

All these aspects are clearly related to the instrument being analysed.
Left Sidebar

The left bar allows you to select:
- Total Portfolio
- Trading History
- Chats and Support
- Leader Board
- Market Analysis
- Video Tutorials
This part of the platform is very important because it allows you to completely manage your own account and offers the possibility to search for a lot of information and statistics about the different assets.
Right Sidebar

The right bar allows you to select:
- Amount
- Multiplier
- Volume
- Pip value
- Auto Close
- BUY
- SALE
This section of the platform represents the part where orders are executed by deciding how much money to invest, the Stop Loss, the leverage and finally whether to buy or to sell.
Chart of the Selected Financial Instrument
We come to the last element of the platform we are considering: the chart related to the price of the selected financial instrument. To create a chart, please refer to the lesson on CFD charts.

As you can see in the bar on the left, there is a menu below that allows you to :
- Select the time interval between updates (for example, 5 minutes will mean that the table will be updated every 5 minutes).
- You can choose the type of chart, choosing between candles and lines.
- The button that allows you to configure indicators, which we will analyze in more detail in a specific article.
For now, we just say that these are functions that allow you to better analyze price charts and study their trends.
