What is the purpose of the minimum deposit of Plus500?
The minimum deposit of Plus500 is required by the broker to start trading with real money and minimum liquidity. In fact, even if it is possible to carry out operations with less than 100 euros, it is always good to have certain liquidity in order not to run into the so-called margin calls.
A margin call is a warning that the broker sends when the equity reaches levels are too low. Equity is the economic status of the account that considers open positions, profit and loss. So, in the event that the transactions are making losses and the equity reaches levels that are too low, to protect himself (and not make you lose more than what you have deposited), the brokers gets alerted by e-mail, text message and automatic calls, in order to add credit or close the position.
If the margin call is not answered and the losing position continues to be lost, Plus500 will automatically close the position.
Now, apart from the margin call, it is advisable to have a liquidity that can still cover you in case the market initially goes in an unfavourable direction. For a position of 30€, for example, 100€ of available credit will do very well. If you would like to open a position of €90, €100 would be close to you and you could immediately run into a margin call.
Can the minimum deposit be used?
The minimum deposit is completely usable. Every cent deposited on Plus500 is absolutely usable for your trading operations. So, if you make the minimum deposit of 100€, you will have exactly 100€ in your available account.
The money you deposit is yours.
Why can’t I deposit €10 to Plus500?
Trading is not a game and usually, those who practice it do not do so to earn a few cents or a few euros.
Low deposits, such as 10€ on Plus500, are not possible essentially for three reasons:
- This would not allow you to open trading positions on any type of instrument.
- This would not leave you such a margin that you could trade without incurring a margin call.
- A demo account with virtual funds is also available for practice
Can I use Plus500 without a minimum deposit?
You can use Plus500 without a minimum deposit using a free demo account. The demo account is identical to the real account, with the only difference that you operate with fake money, rather than real money.
Also, another difference is that with the demo account, you do not influence the market so your trades will not affect supply and demand and therefore the price.
If you want to use the real account, you need to use real money. If you do not have any, the minimum deposit you can make is 100 euros.
At any time, however, you can switch from the real account to the demo platform and vice versa.
Remember that the demo account and the real account are two separate accounts, so the operations carried out on the two accounts are not linked in any way. A transaction made on the demo account will remain on the demo account as well as a transaction those made on the real account will remain on the real account.
